Picked one up from a friend had been sitting in his garage for a while and was going to get rid of it so I offered him $20 bucks for it said he was going to throw it out. I plugged in my desktop/router and stuff only two of five lights light up so it handles it fine. I expected it needed new batteries..When I hit test on it, I have maybe a couple mins at best before it shuts down so I suspected it needed new batteries anyway since it had been sitting a while but my concern here is the heat it puts off. Its extremely hot I know battery backups run warm but to be this damn hot probably not worth investing in new batteries ? Smart UPS 1000

Just ran into this on youtube…. and I think it’s very useful for organizing your dock
Didn’t watch the video but you can do that w/ Onyx.
yeah and there is another program called docker as well that will do it
but this is nice if you don’t feel like installing more stuff on your machine

I’ve got a Denon 2308 receiver that I’m just now trying to setup the quick selects. However, I have my speakers bi-amped and whenever I try to store my settings and then recall them it will remember everything, but it keeps shutting off my "B" speakers so that I only get my "A" tweeters and not the woofers noise and I have to manually turn on the "B" speakers again.
Is this fixable, or just a flaw of the system?
So I just did a reformat and installed a raid array. I’ve got a program I need to run (Lightroom 3) that won’t let me open it because the files it needs are set to read only.
I’m on the administrator account but every time I right click on a folder and uncheck the read only box (and I apply the setting to all the files in the folders too), the dialog box pops up and it goes through all the files.
But once I close the window and go back it reverts back to read only!

I’m having some problem setting up a RAID 1 array. I just did a clean install to my SSD and I want my new 2TB’s to be in RAID 1. I created the volume in the BIOS setup and installed Intel’s Rapid Storage Technology program and I’m trying to follow it’s direction where it says to create a volume under the program, but there’s just no create button!
WTF’s going on?
I’m running Win7 SP1, an MSI P45-8D mobo, Intel 80GB SSD system drive and hopefully the 2 2TB’s in RAID 1…

Let’s talk coffee makers. I’m looking for a coffee maker for one person,so a single serve is preferable. I’m interested in the Keurig line, but I don’t know if the coffee really tastes any different or if it just makes a smaller batch? Anyone have one and wanna share their opinion?
Any opinions on the Dolce Gusto and Tassimo brewers?
I love my keurig. The coffee is good and aside from being single serve its very fast. If you get a model with the auto on/off timer you can have your coffee in about 30 seconds after walking into the kitchen.

I was going to convert a PE2900 over to vSphere so I called dell to get a quote on more ram possibly the part # so I didnt have to go through them directly but they wouldn’t give it to me lol instead sent me a quote. 2 grand for ram where do you guys order your ram ?
Sounds about right, RAM is expensive, it uses one transistor per bit and those transistors are like a penny a piece… so for a megabyte you’re talking 8 million pennies.
As per , this is the stuff you need. $270 for 2x4GB.

Easy to do with I-ringer for windows. Any easy software program for mac?
That is not free though. I am looking for something I can do to create like 25 ringtones and don’t wish to pay $3.00/song.
how is that not free? it says free right in the title of the page.

I’m using my Mac Mini full time now and found something that kind of bothers me. When I open up a folder that contains files as well as other folders, it lists them all alphabetically. Is there a way to get them to list the folders first and then the files, like it does in Windows?
You can have them sorted by ‘kind’. If Kind isn’t listed, goto the View menu and select "Show View Options" and check the box for Kind.

My laptop fell off of a low table (15-20 inches) as it was shutting down. When I restarted it, it would get to the Windows loading screen and just stop. I booted up the computer with a Debian Live CD to see if I could access disk and I can still access it, albeit incredibly slowly. It takes over a minute just for a single folder to load. I’ve tried copying files off of the drive, but it takes forever just to copy a couple of small files and if you try to copy a large file or large number of files, it simply times out and gives an error. And when you do successfully copy a file (a JPEG for example), it will sometimes be corrupted, as if the whole file isn’t there (intact header, but half the image missing).
